Skills for Learning Technology

We have been so grateful and thankful for helping our students to have the necessary technology to be successful in the classroom setting. We have two ten inch apple ipads that are touchscreen and easy to use by all the students.
Our curriculum in the Skills for Learning and Living classroom is mostly online and works really well with the smart board. The activities are interactive so we really need an ipad for all students to have a meaningful learning experience.The students have been so excited and happy to use the ipads to participate in the monthly lessons.
The ipads have also been used for social studies, Science, Personal Health and Vocational Skills activities.
We have observed and recorded much progress since we started using the ipads. Certain behaviors have gradually been replaced due to the fact that they look forward to having an opportunity to work on the ipads.

My students work on hands on activities and use a lot of manipulatives. They love school and enjoy working on the computer and iPads. The iPad will help enhance learning since they are using the Unique Learning System. They will also use the iPad in all subject areas like math, reading, social studies, personal health and vocational skills on a weekly basis. They have been taught to share and take turns. These skills will be reinforced throughout the school day. The iPad will also be used to prepare them for the end of year assessments and monthly pre and post tests as well as benchmarks.
