• Keep the CORE Showing & the CORE Store running!

• Getting Lost in a Good Book!

  My students are so thankful for the books we have received! We've used each of these books in our room for thematic units, SEL conversations, and a series of mini-activities. WE LOVE THEM! We are at book #33 now in our 100 book goal!

  Students have been referring back to these books in conversations and learning units and nothing has brought me more joy than to see that! We have also created our own lending library where student mentors in this class can get a book to read to a younger student they are helping out and then return it when they are finished.

  The students and I are so thankful and your donation has helped us create an incredible and deep love of reading as a class.”

• Grand Opening: Liberty Park CORE Store!

  Funded Dec 7, 2023

  Opening the boxes to our new CORE Store and hearing the voices of excitement from our students was emotional to say the least. Students from our Patriot Pack group, were able to unbox the materials and help set up the incredible, new CORE store for it's grand opening on March 11th.

  Murmurs have been heard around the school as each grade level has caught wind of the grand opening and is catching onto the excitement as well! Teachers have been sneaking in and out of the designated space to appreciate all you, our donors, have done for our students.

  As the "grand opening" approaches, all I can think is how thankful I am for all of the help from people like you. You have made it so our students can have an opportunity to show civility, order, respect, and excellence every single day and be rewarded for being the amazing, kind, and gracious students that they are!”

• New Kid?! Try New Books!

  Thank you so much for this classroom set of books! This graphic novel has become such a fun addition to our novel study sessions. This story touches on so many topics that kids, especially kids starting a new school, struggle with. My students have enjoyed getting to know the main character who has many of the same struggles of learning how to grow and maneuver middle school, just like they will be doing in the upcoming year. Because of you, I am able to help prepare them in a unique way as well as help them create a love of reading interesting and exciting new types of text! Thank you again!”

• Bringing Reading to Life!

  One of my favorite memories of the school year was opening those boxes, you helped us get, with my students! Those materials meant the world to them and you could tell from the looks on their faces. They couldn't believe how many people supported their learning through donations on Donor's Choose!

  My goal of this year and the years to come are to make sure that the students get to become more hands-on with their learning. The STEM materials helped bring science to life for them! The books were also an amazing addition to our library, where the students could learn about real people who changed the world in some amazing way!

• Environment Is Key

  My students and I greatly appreciate these materials. Our class had just recently received an awesome floor table and were in need of chairs to go with it! These chairs quickly became a big part of our classroom collaborative environment. They all fit together perfectly around our table so the students were able to use this space for group projects!

  Not only was this donation so important to a collaborative workspace, it was also the perfect place for those students who need the option of floor seating with some support in a flexible seating classroom!

  When the materials first got to the school, the students were so excited to open them! Four students helped open the boxes and each and every student requested a chance to "test out the chairs." They loved them so much and they have become a key seating arrangement in the classroom.

  It is my hope that these chairs will continue to be a collaborative and flexible space for years to come!”

• More Opportunities!

  The new table selected and funded for the classroom has been an amazing addition to our room! The students utilize this table every single day! Some students are so eager to have a turn using the table that they have been arriving earlier to school in order to be one of the students sitting there throughout the day. The table has changed the dynamic of the room because, the students who choose to responsibly sit on the floor during instruction, are now able to have a space to work even harder in a way that is both structured and flexible at the same time.

  The new books selected and funded for the classroom are also an incredible addition. Students have been asking and pleading with me to get them Spanish books so that they may continue their learning in both languages they know. Since the arrival of these books, students have been checking them out frequently from my library in earnest. Students especially enjoy the nonfiction Spanish books! I have had many students borrow these books and share them with parents and siblings, as well, which is an incredible opportunity we have been given by your generous donations.

  When the students first saw the new materials, they were so excited! The table was brought in during a time the students were out of the room, so when they returned they were shocked! They didn't know when the table would be received but they had been anxiously awaiting its arrival. In the early days of having received it, students were each taking turns due to the new popularity of the table. The books have been extremely popular as well and have offered students a chance to learn in unique ways!

  Overall, these two additions to our room have changed the dynamic of our day and our learning in such a positive way! Students now have the ability to sit where they want, while that choice is structured and flexible. Also, many students now get the chance to experience literature in their home language and share that with those in the class and their families at home. Your generous donation has helped change this classroom and the students in it for the better and for that we are extremely grateful.”
