The Human I am: Self Portrait
Funded Sep 23, 2021The new materials are very helpful and have given my student a boost in their confidence. Students were able to use the easels to start their self portraits, giving them a different approach to do their work, rather than on a table. I have been using the easels as well, to display student work in the classroom and for teacher modeling. i did a simple tutorial on how to properly stand and use the easels. The foil was used for another assignment that involved an artist called Yayoi Kusama, her artwork deals with mental health and how art help her manage her mental disorder.
My students were very excited and curious, since I mentioned to them that I had new materials coming in. I had a few of them help me unpack and organize them. Moving forward, we plan to use the paint and extra foil on the self-portraits to give it a more personal touch to each portrait.
Many thanks again!”

This classroom project was brought to life by Nickelodeon and one other donor.Dia De Los Muertos; Celebrating and Remembering
Funded Dec 3, 2019My students were amazed when the packages arrived to my classroom. Once opened I specified what lesson we were going to used them with and how. My Digital art students were very happy once they seen the printer, they knew their digital work would be printed and put on display in side the classroom and around the school. The stylus pen allowed them to draw on their tablets effortlessly and with ease. The stylus pens allowed them to add small details and patterns to their masks.
My three- dimensional class had never worked with plaster gauze, and they were eager to add it to their mask. the plaster gauze permitted them to have a more firm surface for them to paint on once it dried.
My students will continue using these resources and materials. We will soon start learning about design and screen printing on to a T-shirt, fabric or poster; using the screen printing unit. Once again, thank you for your support.”
