  • Let's Get Moving!

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! My students were so excited to see the new recess equipment for them to use. This was much needed, as we only had one soccer ball and a worn out kickball.

Living in the south means that we get to spend the majority of our recess time enjoying the fresh air outside. The equipment gives my students the opportunity to participate in team games during that time, instead of standing around and talking. Your donation has given them the chance to get up and get moving!

We are looking forward to the spring warm up and spending even more time outside moving our bodies!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Vankirk

  • Exciting New Book Buddy Books

    Funded Oct 12, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous contribution to our classroom! I have many English Language Learners who are new to the United States and are just starting to learn English. These books are helping them to increase their knowledge of common objects. It also gives them books to read during our independent reading time.

Each day, we spend a portion of our time reading chosen texts. The students are able to go book shopping and pick books that interest them, but are also on their reading level. The Spanish-English section of my classroom library was severely lacking in engaging books for my ELL students. Your donation has helped to expand that section and give students new books to check out!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Vankirk

  • New Books!

    Funded Mar 6, 2024

Thank you so much for the generous donation to our classroom! You have made a big impact on my students and their reading engagement. Working in a Title 1 school means that my students do not always have the resources to receive new books and you have made that possible.

They are so excited to receive the new books you have helped to procure. They are looking forward to the horror series and graphic novels. Independent reading is a big part of our day and these new books will help create an engaging environment for that time.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Vankirk

  • Classroom Incentives!

    Funded Feb 26, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation! My students are very excited for the new recess equipment and incentives. They are very excited to earn the fidget toys and use the equipment during physical activity time.

The candy will be used for a novel study project in which the students can earn golden tickets that lead to bigger prizes. This will connect to our novel and provide an engaging and enriching experience.

Thank you again for your donation and please consider donating to our classroom again in the future!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Vankirk

  • Rocks and Gemstones! Oh My!

    Funded Feb 8, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom! My students are so excited to use the rock kits and dig for their own minerals.

We have been learning about the properties of matter and how to describe the characteristics of rocks and minerals. Having the physical kits has been a game changer in showing the students the different properties. My students love seeing and feeling the rocks in person! They have used the rocks to complete experiments and show their science knowledge.

We have not used the mineral dig kits yet, but I know the students will be so excited and engaged when uncovering and describing their own mineral, and even more so when they can take it home!

Thank you again for your generous gift to our classroom!”

  • Engaging Book Series

    Funded Oct 27, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation of books to our classroom. My students were so excited to open the boxes and see the brand new book series they had requested! These books will help update our old, torn library with a fresh new look.

The books you helped purchase will give my students the engaging library they need to build their love of reading. It can be tough to get students interested in reading, especially with outdated series they cannot relate to. These new series will get them engaged and excited about independent reading!”

  • 4th Grade Engineering!

    Funded Oct 25, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous donation to our classroom. It means so much to us that you helped provide necessary resources for our students to access our science curriculum. Your donation helped us purchase essential materials that will give our students the opportunity to explore circuits and electricity first hand!

While we have a robust science curriculum, we are not always provided with the resources needed to fully carry out the lessons. With these materials, we will be able to experiment with electricity and see how the pathways between source and light are created. Without these, my students would be stuck watching videos of other people doing the experiments.

Thanks to you, they will be the ones doing the experimenting!”

    With gratitude,

  • 4th Grade Books!

    Funded Oct 10, 2023

Thank you so much for your generous gift of books for our classroom library! My students were so excited when we received that packages and unwrapped the brand new series and graphic novels. You should have seen how quickly they went to grab them!

These books have already helped spark a new love of reading within the classroom. My students are already begging for more series and books! These books have made our independent reading time more engaging and enjoyable! Please consider donating to my projects again!”

  • Book Binder

    Funded Nov 30, 2021

Thank you so much for your kind and generous donation to our classroom. My students were so excited when we received our new materials. They loved the new headphones and the book binder. They were so excited to use the new cushioned headphones during their independent centers and math work time. We have not used the book binder yet, but they are looking forward to creating their own personal, bound books.

We use the headphones every day in the classroom and even have extras for dispersed students or if a pair is broken or lost. The book binder will be used to bind our class research project on dinosaurs, that we are currently working on, and all the writing that my students complete this year. They will have a book at the end of the year to see how they have grown and improved their writing skills.

Thank you again for your generous donation to our classroom.”

I am asking for a class set of headphones for a variety of computer and tablet based activities. Our classroom can be a very busy place and it is integral that we have headphones for complete concentration when using technology to enhance learning. Coming from a low income background, it is difficult for many of my students to afford quality headphones that fit correctly and do not irritate their ears. We use technology at a variety of points during the day, including center and group activities. Headphones are a necessary part of these activities. We will utilize these headphones for the entire year!
