Sketchbooks for All of My Art Students
Funded Feb 16, 2022Thank you so much for your generous donation. With your help, we were able to provide all of my art students a sketchbook. We used the sketchbook for drawing activities, notes, plans and free sketching. It also allowed my students to complete work at home if they were unable to attend school due to quarantines.
In the past, I asked students to purchase their own sketchbooks, and there were many that never did, which complicated the flow of the class. I either gave them used sketchbooks or supplied daily paper. Now, with your help, each student is equally supplied and can focus on daily tasks and assignments in class.
Many students chose to keep them even after the semester was complete. They continue to work in them for personal art. Thank you for giving my students a place to create.
Again, we appreciate you!”

Art Class at Home - High School Remotely
Funded Oct 23, 2020I have been teaching all of my students remotely for the entire year. They are from low-income families and are facing even more economic hardships from the pandemic. Therefore, I did not want my class to provide additional stress.
With your generous donations, my students were each able to receive a sketchbook and a set of colored pencils. It is difficult to learn at home, and even more difficult to set up art supplies. Moreover, many of my students live in multi-generational homes, which causes them to often lack even the physical space to work. In this vein, these particular art supplies allowed for easy completion of the workload, while creating an organized collection of work.
Lastly, as my students have expressed to me that they prefer and enjoy working on paper and with their hands rather than on a device and through a screen, it was important to me that they got the opportunity to do this. As a result, they looked forward to my class, filling up their sketchbook, and sharing their creations with their peers. Thanks to these supplies, they completed daily activities in their sketchbook as well as long term drawings, and overall derived a more meaningful and valuable remote learning experience.”

This classroom project was brought to life by An Anonymous Donor and 9 other donors. We Need To Capture Wonderful Memories For Our Yearbook!
Funded Dec 9, 2010My yearbook class and I would like to thank you for your donation of two digital cameras. The yearbook is almost complete, and it could not have been possible without you. We have since been able to photograph events in the school, ranging from pep rallies, school dances, debate club to candids among the students and staff.
Aside from taking photographs, this donation also gave my students a sense of responsibility. They feel they have a serious role. I no longer have to lend my old personal camera to the students. These cameras are high quality and the students take care of them. The students involvement in the yearbook has increased, and we have even started photographing the juniors for next year's yearbook.
There have been many budget cuts in the school, and a donation like this is appreciated beyond words. It is something that can be used for years to come. I hope more schools can have donors like you.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Potenza
