Kindergartener's in my classroom rotate through learning centers each day. One of their most enjoyable rotations is the puzzle center. Students are instructed to use the picture on the front of the box to help them assemble their puzzle. In the event they are assembling an alphabet puzzle they are instructed to look at the alphabet on the wall in addition to the puzzle picture to help them know which letter comes next. The best part about using puzzles is the students do not even consider it to be work. They think they are just playing, but in fact they are building necessary hand muscles and visual spacial skills.
