STEM Bins

From the very first day that we received our supplies for these STEM bins, my students have been absolutely ecstatic- and they still are! They got to help open the packages and even put them together!
We begin most mornings using the STEM bins and firing up their creative minds. In the mornings, 15 minutes are dedicated to building with the materials in the STEM bins. The kids have a choice of which STEM bin they want to use each morning. With 16 students and 16 bins, this works out perfectly! They each get to have their own and work freely.
I am happy I will get to use these throughout the school year an can't wait to see what my students can continue to create.”

I teach a bunch of wild first graders in a small town in South Dakota. We all know that first grade is a big year! Students aren't quite ready to leave kindergarten play time behind but aren't ready enough to focus and work like second graders. This is why I love to implement STEM projects in my classroom. With these STEM bins, my students will be allowed to create and build using a variety of manipulatives while communicating and collaborating with their peers. They are allowed to work freely or together to solve engineering problems by thinking differently. I find that students LOVE doing these projects and are always so proud of their work!
