Emergent Readers to Create Fluent Readers
Funded May 5, 2022Thank you so much for your generosity. With your donations we were able to purchase more decodable readers for our beginning English learners. These readers provide many visuals within the text to help the students understand the story and build their vocabulary. These books are giving them the confidence they need to continue their journey in learning to read. The students are also able to take these books home to show their families how well they are reading. Having these readers is helping me to build enthusiastic readers in my classroom.”

Funded May 4, 2022My students and I greatly appreciate your generosity. The supplies you helped provide to our classroom have allowed us to build our English skills. The students enjoy reading the colorful decodable books and working on the rigorous activities and lessons I have been able add from Teachers Pay Teachers to supplement our learning.
The classroom supplies have also allowed the students to organize their belongings in an easy way, which saves us precious time to dedicate to more learning.
We can't thank you enough for all you have done.”

Funded Aug 25, 2019Thank you so much for all of your donations to our ESOL classroom. The students love everything we have received. My upper elementary and middle school students really enjoy the Scholastic Magazines, because they are filled with articles that are interesting and relevant to them. I don't think they feel like they are even working when we are reading them because they are genuinely interested in the topic :). The magazine even comes with an online component that allows me to print articles in Spanish, or a lower reading level so that all students can access the information.
My primary students have been using the language journals to practice basic literacy skills. During the first few minutes of class, they are able to work on a page independently, and it helps to build their confidence in their English skills. They look forward to coming in and getting started on it right away, and are always excited for me to check how they did.
Lastly, our new comfy, cool down space, the peace corner. The rug, pillows, and flexible seating that were purchased with your donations allows the students a comfortable place to deescalate if need be, or just have a different space to complete their work. It even serves as a safe space for other students in the building when they need a break from their classroom.
I don't think there are enough words to thank you all for the generosity you showed to my kids. We appreciate each and every one of you! :) ”

Mrs. Bradley
