  • Biography Books

    Funded Mar 30, 2023

My students were so excited when we unboxed these books in our classroom. They have learned a lot about American heroes over the course of the year. These books would help them do more research on the wax museum research project.

Each student is assigned a famous person to research and find out about what made them famous. They them have to write a speech as if they were that person. Telling everyone about themselves. The students have to highlight things that person did in the beginning, middle and end of their life. The students have to memorize their speech. We practice a lot and finally they are ready for their audience. Once day students around the school come and hear them say their speeches and another day family members come to school to see.

These books help boost my students self esteem and remind them they can do anything they set their minds to.”

  • Giving Books

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my class. My students love to read, even those several students in my class struggle to read on grade level. I want books to be available to all my students no matter what there reading level.

The books that were donated to my students were perfect because the books covered all types of reading levels. Each of my students received a new book to take home over Christmas. They were so excited!

Several of my students have commented about their book since they had been sent home. I love hearing stories about my students reading with their families at home.

Thanks so much for your generous donations.”

  • Author's in Training

    Funded Aug 26, 2022

In our third grade classroom, writing is a big deal. It's not always my students favorite thing to do, but we work really hard. Our project, "Author's in Training" gave my students excitement about writing in the classroom.

They loved trying out their pencil grabs. It was the first time I've ever given those to every student. There are quite a few students that struggle holding a pencil correctly, so those grips really helped.

Our weekly journals are fun to write on and help keep the students on task. I love how they have a focus skill each week.”

  • Exploring Science

    Funded Apr 26, 2022

Thanks so much for your generous donations for science kits to my classroom. My students love science and love to learn. These kits will help learning science more fun and hands on.

I teach science to multiple classes each year. I'm always amazed how many of my students have such an interest in learning about science. We cover plants, animals, weather and engineering throughout the course of the year. Having books and being have to hands on materials to teach with makes it so much easier and engaging.

I can't wait to start off the year using these materials in my classroom. Thanks again for your generous donations.”

  • Mental Health Books

    Funded Jan 17, 2022

Thank you so much for your support for my classroom. My students love reading books and I love using books to teach. These books focus on mental health issues and often use the story to teach a lesson.

I have read several of the books so far and my class has really enjoyed them. They love coming to the carpet to hear stories read to them, which we do daily. Students are this age still really enjoy pictures books.

I love being able to alway add new books to my classroom library for my students to enjoy. Thank you again for your generous donations.”

  • Lego Learning

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

My third grade students loved getting more Legos added to our classroom. We use Lego's a lot for morning work. The kids love coming in the classroom and getting to create something with their classmates first thing in the morning. This is a great way to great way to create community in our classroom.

The students were so excited when we unboxed all our new Lego's. They especially loved all the Lego people they could great stories for. It's nice to have enough for all the students to play together with out them arguing.

Thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom. My students are very appreciative.”

  • Have a Seat!

    Funded Apr 28, 2021

Thanks you so much for supporting my "Take a Seat" project. My leaf seats were a perfect addition to my camping theme classroom. The students use them daily when working out of their seats during guided reading and math time.

These soft seats allow the students to sit comfortably out of their seat while working in groups. The students were so excited when we unboxed them in the classroom. Now I have enough soft seats for all the students in my class.

I look forward to my students using them for years to go.”

  • Math Tool Boxes

    Funded Oct 26, 2020

My third grade students love their new math tool boxes. They were so excited when I showed them all the new math tools we had to use during class. They are excited to use them and excited to do math.

It has been very helpful for each student to have their own tool kit, while learning new math concepts. They are easy for the students to use and the materials are very well made.

I look forward to having these tool boxes in my classroom for the next several years. I know my class will also enjoy having their own personal math tool box. These have been a great addition to my classroom.”

  • Bundle of Biographies

    Funded Jun 18, 2020

I truly appreciate all the donations that went towards my project "Bundle of Biographies". This helped me enhance my third grade library and expose my students to so many new people that have never read about.

They can choose to read these books during read to self time, which we have multiple times throughout the week. I will also be choosing some of these biographies to read as read aloud through out the school year.

We will also be using these books as resources for our class project the wax museum. The students have to choose a person to research and learn more about. I look forward to using these books for years to come.”

  • Math Matters!

    Funded Dec 5, 2019

My students love our new math games and puzzles. We use them on a daily basis in our guided math centers. They were so excited when we opened the box and saw all the new supplies we got for our classroom.

I use the games to teach new skills in my small groups, like multiplication and division. Once the students are familiar with playing the game. I move it to the independent game station, so they came play it with their small group. It has worked out really well. They love doing the puzzles. They go along with out math skills and it's something they can work on alone or with a partner.

Math is something that a lot of students struggle with, so it's nice to have nice materials for the students to work with. I know my class will enjoy these materials for years to come.”

My students having their own headphones will give them the ability to listen to different content that is on their level. Some students require more text to be read to them, so headsets are very helpful. It's much easier for students to focus on what they are doing when they don't have to listen to other student's devices. This also allows the students who are working on a lower level to not feel embarrassed because no one can hear what they are listening to. Students will also use their personal slates, either working in a group for extra practice or working out problems they need to solve on their own. We use these whiteboards almost daily. The students are so much more engaged, verses using pencil and paper to do the same types of problems.
