  • Let's Keep Them Active, Let's Bring Soccer to SouthSide

    Funded Sep 8, 2019

It is with extreme gratitude that we at E.S.H. Greene Elementary say thank you for the donations. The donations provided allowed us to establish our first ever after school soccer club. The equipment purchased and donated has allowed our school to continue building strong school-community relationships.

The students at Greene are excited about the soccer program thanks to your donations. Additionally, the impact of the soccer program is being felt throughout the community and school. Teachers are noticing behavior changes in students who are participating and parents are seeking opportunities to volunteer to support the club.

Soccer in our Latina community is huge and thanks to your donations it will also allow Greene to have family soccer days. We are forever grateful and thankful to all who contributed to this project. It has truly impacted our school both socially and academically.”

I would love to implement a Food Sharing program at my school. We need a refrigerator in order to meet health code guidelines for storing food. My students live in an area defined as a Food Desert and have limited access to nutritious and healthy foods. My school provides USDA approved nutritious and healthy breakfast and lunch for our students. Unfortunately, nearly 40% of the food is not eaten and thrown away. However, If we have a refrigerator, we could share the extra food with other students who may still be hungry. We could also, donate any extra food at the end of the day to families, shelters or other nonprofit organizations.
