Today’s Students, Tomorrow’s Leaders

Five short months ago, I had the incredible opportunity to re-enter the classroom after a 9-year hiatus. My main hope in planning for the school was establishing an inviting learning environment where students would feel comfortable, be equipped for success and venture out into the world without having to leave our room. Thanks to your tremendous kindness and generosity, I am proud to say that we have accomplished these goals.

I wish you could see the excitement on my students faces when they come in every day and try to snag a coveted spot in our Library, or take one of the flex seating pillows. They visibly relax with these pillows and are able to better concentrate on the lesson of the day.

When we first began implementing Time for Kids, students weren't entirely sure what to make of this addition to our Advisory program. Since then, they have learned about current events like the Youth Climate Change Walk, science/technological advances in robotics and invention, and philanthropy in action (among other topics). They ask insightful and relevant questions pertaining to the world around them. It is truly amazing to see.

The printer you gifted our class has been a lifesaver for students (and for me!). We are fortunate to have immediate access to materials found online, and to be able to make copies of necessary class handouts.
