I am requesting a trampoline for my classroom in order to help my students build their gross motor skills while also regulating their own sensory difficulties. Many students with autism can concentrate much better when their sensory needs are met through sensory integration therapy. This trampoline will help them meet their sensory needs. Many of my students have poor core strength and low muscle tone. Almost all of them participate in physical therapy to help them improve their physical functioning. A classroom trampoline will help them develop their strength and coordination. Trampolines have been associated with improvements in sensory awareness, motor skills, coordination, balance, attention span, and emotional regulation. As these are areas where my students have weaknesses, a trampoline would really help them improve their abilities.
