Presentation Tools
Funded Oct 14, 2019Thank you so much for your generous donation that has made a great impact on my classroom.
The podium serves as a great object that makes students feel more at ease when they are presenting and speaking in front of the class. It not only gives them a place to rest their materials, but it makes them feel more secure that they are not standing in front of the class and being fully "stared at," (which is a common complaint I heard often). I also use it frequently as well. It is great for reading my teaching materials and iPad as I am teaching.
The protective cover serves my students well in that I am allowing them to handle it much more freely. Without it, I was much more cautious to allow them to handle such an expensive piece of technology without a cover. This also allows me to move around the room more freely and help and assess students as they are working.”

Giving Students Some Apple
Funded Sep 11, 2019Thank you again for your donation!
The technology knowledge students are gaining is tremendous. Having a classroom iPad makes modeling some of these technologies very easy in allowing my screen to be mirrored. Since the world is so technology-driven, this is allowing students to see different programs that are not just Google products like their one-to-one devices. This technology also allows group work and lessons to be shown in real-time through my projector.
I think the most exciting aspect of this new technology to my students is that they feel they are in on something special and something greater than what everyone else has. There is a certain sense of awe anytime it is brought out. I believe I am the only one in the building with Apple products like this, so they feel they are getting something that they are not getting in other classrooms.
I think all of my students have really taken to this new technology. For a while, I had students requesting to use it in place of their Chromebooks just to check it out. I think in a lot of ways, it has really been appealing to the population of Amish students I have in class. The format is completely different than sitting with them and navigating for them on a Chromebook, so there is a curious level of appeal I did not expect there.”
