  • Differences in Food Production!

    Funded Aug 24, 2024

I cannot thank each of you enough for helping me give my students the opportunity to see different ways to grow our own foods. The pure excitement of my students as they go through the process of producing something so simple as a snack has been amazing to watch. Students have eagerly chosen different seeds to grow and have learned that not all seeds are meant for all methods of growing. While our tomato plants are more than thriving in our desktop planter, the cabbage they are growing seem to be very stunted. Seeing them work out the reasons and better solutions to these issues have been a joy. Whether starting a plant from seed or from sprout is the better choice to what kind of growing medium is best for each plant our students are loving learning about this topic and I can't wait to see some end results.”

  • Flocabulary for Fun Year 2!

    Funded Nov 28, 2023

I can not tell you haw happy my students are that we were able to have Flocabulary again this year. This subscription helps to make learning fun and the students can be heard singing the songs throughout the day. It puts definitions and examples of parts of speech, numbers, numerical operations, and other curriculum topics to catchy songs to help students remember them. You are also able to use the provided lyrics as familiar text for the older students. I am constantly seeing students turn to those pages in their binders during that time where some students finish early and are doing quiet reading at their desk while they wait to move on. Thank you again for helping us be able to use this resource for a second year.”

  • 4th Grade Book Tasting Fun!

    Funded Sep 5, 2023

Our 4th grade book tasting event was a huge hit! These students had never experienced an activity like that and did not want it to end. We were able to have lots of great conversations about how each item was able to tie back to our topics and books that we would be looking at during Module 1. The students were very excited to look through books and see if they could find topics specifically tied to our snacks. The 4th grade teachers had a great time as well putting this together. We are already planning a book tasting for our 2nd Module so be on the look out for another project from us! This time I think we will add some more decorations to go along with the snacks!”

  • Phonics Fun!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

Thank you for helping me and my colleague provide the very necessary materials to give our students the best expierences with our phonics program. Learning letters and sounds can be fun with hands on activities to go with. With dealing with the after affects of Covid and the cases that are still occuring, our students have missed some of the foundational skills for reading and writing. Our school teaches phonics up through the fourth grade and learning sounds while trying to keep up with that curriculum is not easy. Providing these materials so that students can get the most success means that learning will happen at a faster pace. Thank you for helping us!”

  • Creativity Without Restrictions

    Funded Oct 26, 2022

Thank you for helping me provide materials on my classroom to meet the individual artistic needs of my students. We have many lessons that give students opportunities to produce materials to help them study, share with the class, or simply take something home to share with their family. Having a variety of paper, pens, markers, and other items make it easier for students to be able to work with their own creativeness while not putting a time or money strain on their parents for the materials. This also gives them a chance to all choose materials from the same list making finished products more fairly made.”

  • Flocabulary for Fun!

    Funded Oct 12, 2022

This is my first year to ever use the Flocabulary resource. After using the free trial offer my students and I were hooked! We listen to the music video that best goes along with our lessons. This is a great way to start the class with student engagement. It has the option to print out the lyrics so students can read along which helps with fluency as well since we see the same videos multiple times throughout the year. I can't stress enough how much my students enjoy starting class with a short music video that they get to sing along with.”

  • Books, Books, and More Books!

    Funded Oct 6, 2022

Many times teachers have a great idea that students just seem to love. These ideas can spark the first flame of a love of a subject. Unfortunantly, also many times teachers do not have the resources to offer students to be able to continue learning about these subjects past the lesson plan. This project has given my studnts that exact opportunity. Thanks to the amazing donors that helped me secure the extra books for our curriculum, I have the unique ability to allow students to read books that apply to our topics and gain more knowledge on their own and in their own time. My students have greatly enjoyed this so far this year and have put the books to great use! I ccan't thank you enough for the role you played in allowing this.”
