  • Application of Math Makes It Memorable

    Funded Jul 26, 2021

Having a 3D printer in the classroom has really helped my students understand how wide reaching math is. I have seen my student's excitement to explore different concepts in math, science, and computers increase. Knowing that what they understand can actually change a physical object makes learning come to life.

The one aspect of having the printer that I did not foresee is how it has brought my students together. They want to work in teams and discuss and explore. The printer has brought my students back from Covid-19 in a way nothing else could have. They are excited to come to school, try new things, and learn new ways of tackling problems. It fosters communication, cooperation, and perseverance.

Thank you for making my classroom a better place to learn.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wolf

  • Math is Learned Best with a Variety of Tools.

    Funded Jan 30, 2022

Thank you very much for kind and generous donation to help me be a more impactful teacher, and my students to have a wider variety of ways to learn math. Math is a keystone subject to understanding the world we live in. We are very excited to receive these new materials and put them to good use.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wolf

  • Bouncing Can Help With Anxiety, Stress, and Attention Problems

    Funded May 4, 2021

The balls that we are using to help relieve stress and anxiety are working wonders. I have seen the importance of movement to alleviate stress this year and this tool has been so vital. I also love to see how happy the balls make my students, they feel special and important because they get to have such nice things in their classroom.

Students love the ability to bounce as they learn and for students who need movement to help with anxiety and stress, the balls are life-savers. I appreciate you showing my students that people care about them and want them to succeed.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Wolf

In sixth grade we get to learn about places all over the world from the beginning of man to our present day. We also study the universe, ecosystems, and energy and matter. With such a wide variety of subjects, sixth grade is fun but can also be overwhelming. To help students better understand the subjects we are studying and how they are important in their lives, we try and do as many field trips and hands-on activities that we can afford. Unfortunately the funds are never enough. We have started to use the world wide web and advancements in technology to get our students to places around the world and have experiences that will make learning come alive. One example of this has been the opportunity to visit the museum in Egypt to explore their discoveries through Skype. This was so exciting and academically beneficial to the students that we wanted to expand our learning opportunities even further. With Oculus Go Virtual Reality Headsets we will be able to give students the opportunity to try their skills in interactive work environments This would greatly add to their understanding of application. We would also use the virtual reality headsets to let students do scientific experiments that might be too expensive, too dangerous, or too remote for them to do otherwise. For example: testing the soil of a rain forest for composition. Another way we would use virtual reality headsets is to take students back in time so that they could really see what it was like in ancient Egypt or Mesopotamia. Having real-life (virtual realty) experiences would help learning come to life.
