  • Unlock The Treasure Chest

    Funded May 19, 2021

One of the ways I try to reach my students is to "go beyond" the textbooks and "packaged programs" given to us as a primary teaching resource. As we know, every child is different and one can only "tweak" a program so much.

Teachers Pay Teachers is a unique resource in that first the resources are created not by educational product companies but teachers currently in the classroom working with students. These products that I have purchased are geared to students as individuals. Writing resources that allow for accelarated teaching as well as reteaching prior learning with topics the children are excited to write about enable the students to be better writers. When have you ever seen writing lessons include games?

I urge any of you who know teachers or who might be teachers yourselves, if you have not done so, to immediately look up Teachers Pay Teachers. I thank you for your kindness in enabling my students to become partners in the learning process by using materials that they are interested in.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Greenberg

  • Refining Our Readers Realm

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

On behalf of the "Class 4-315 Superheroes," as well as myself, I'd like to thank you for you kindness in donating new books for our classroom library. The books you donated included favorite authors (Andrew Clements, Roald Dahl; as well as award-winning books and high-interest selections (Wild Robot) for example. Many of my students were reluctant readers, often re-reading the same, tired, books that made up our classroom library aka the 4-315 Reading Realm.

Each day, the students will either "Read-to-Self" and/or "Read to Someone" a book of their choice as part of the "Daily 5." Almost immediately after seeing the new books being placed in the library, the students wanted to "switch their books." What surprised me the most was how fast the students gravitated towards the Roald Dahl books I had planned on presenting them using a powerpoint about Roald Dahl. The students talked about the books instead of me! Talk about a "flipped classroom!"

Many of the students in my class are or were non-native speakers of English (mostly Mandarin and Russian). Seeing them light up and love the new books was absolutely incredible. Some of the books, were high-interest, yet slightly above grade level. One of the trends in reading instruction is to shy away from classifying the children at a specific level but letting them choose based on interest. I cannot begin to thank you enough for your kind donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Greenberg

  • Differentiated and Captivating!

    Funded Apr 6, 2022

Thank you so much for donating to help my kids. The products from Teachers Pay Teachers allow me to differentiate for all of the many levels, talents and interests that my students possess.

They look forward to working with out of the box materials I find on Teachers Pay Teachers!”

    With gratitude,

    Mr. Greenberg

Students are often required to collect, assemble and use evidence multiple times daily to build knowledge and/or to solve problems. These problems could range from keeping their desk materials organized to identifying why the population of a species is in decline. We are seeking various materials to supply our classroom "makerspace" where students can utilize them in their STEAM investigations. With a donation to our project, you can be assured our students have the necessary materials to utilize the Engineering Design Process to engage in STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) learning that will enable them to become 21st century problem-solvers. By limiting the obstacles of not having the proper materials and tools to complete their investigation, the students will become less distracted and working in "STEAM TEAMS," they will be able to fully concentrate on the task.
