  • Returning to the Classroom

    Funded Mar 1, 2021

The materials donated through this project has helped maintain a clean and safe environment in the classroom.

Items such as masking tape is being used to encourage social distancing and give my students visual representations of how to line up, what area of the table to complete work, and other distancing requirements. Other materials that I received has helped create visuals for my students that help them identify their personal spaces, such as their cubbies and caddies.

I appreciate everyone who donated to my project to help create a smooth transition into the classroom!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shultz

  • Jump Into Reading!

    Funded Oct 22, 2020

The books donated through this campaign have helped me provide a wide variety of literacy activities during our virtual Zoom sessions. My students have some personal favorites, like Pete the Cat.

Other items that have really helped improve virtual learning are the student copies of books and the lamination sheets. I have laminated visuals and placemats to send home to students to enhance their virtual learning experience.

Lastly, my class is returning to in-person learning on March 15th. I am looking forward to my students being back in the classroom to participate in more hands-on literacy based activities. Also, the pencil pouches will ensure that I can keep individual student materials separated and clearly labeled. I am currently in the process of preparing the classroom for our return, where I will use a lot of the masking tape to provide my students with visual boundaries to implement CDC guidelines. Thank you so much for your donations and I hope you are all staying safe!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Shultz

An iPad would make a difference in my students learning by providing each student a one on one opportunity to interact with technology to work on literacy skills, counting skills, communication skills and increasing creativity by giving students exposure to new ideas. We focus on communication, preschool academics, and learning through interactive play and I believe an iPad would be a useful tool to integrate into the classroom. For example, time on the iPad can be something student’s can earn as a result of positive behavior in the classroom, therefore, encouraging appropriate and safe behaviors. When introducing an iPad, I would set limits to ensure students aren’t over-exposed and continue to interact with their peers and their environment.
