Celebrating Our Success as English Language Learners

I am writing this letter to thank you for your generous donations to my classroom project "Celebrating Our Success as English Language Learners". All the materials my students received have been used to developing their language learning. My students speaking and learning skills have increased positively thanks to the seg of headphones. Watching videos ag their own pace and recording themselves have been a great experience because students are working with technology and exploring their skills capacities.
On the other hand, the sentences strips and markers have helped my students not only to express themselves writ iij ng their thoughts and ideas, but also to improve their grammar and handwriting.
One of the best moments is when my students post the best work they have done and deserves to be published in our board "Englisj Language Learners Rock". The cork board is the spot to share their work and ideas. Students feel happy and proud about their achievements.

It can be a daunting task to come to America at the age of 12 and be thrown into a world of a language that you don't speak fluently. Some of my students may only be twelve and new to the country but have never entered a school day in their life. Or maybe, they only made it to the second grade because it was too dangerous to go to school in their home country and/or their parents did not have the money to send them. My students take these challenges in stride as they are happy to now be in this land of opportunity. They are safe for the first time and are ready to learn! The speed at which these students are expected to learn English is extremely challenging for them, but I am amazed every year at how these teens do it so quickly. These kids use their English skills to better themselves and to become advocates for their families. I am hoping to use this project to purchase headphones that help facilitate language learning. These headphones will reinforce their listening skills and could use both in desktop and individual Chromebooks. On the other hand, the corkboard will provide the opportunity to share their projects, be celebrated by other classmates and a focal point to present their completed assignments.
