Gardening for Good
Funded Feb 9, 2022The gardening project was such a special experience for my students. Immediately, we started planting and were so excited to watch them sprout and grow. Each day, the students were excited to come to school to see what new developments had occurred with our plants. We logged growth each week to exercise our scientific observation skills and made predictions on which seeds would grow faster and why.
Their initial reaction was priceless. Although some kids knew or guessed what the materials meant for our class, many had no idea how or even where our food grows and come from. The care they put into our garden was so heartwarming, as was seeing their understanding of food origins.
The next steps for my class is harvesting! As the year rounds out, it's wonderful to watch their excitement grow for our garden. They have even told their kindergarten buddies about it and how gardening is their favorite first grade activity. I'm already looking forward to the next growing season with my new class as this becomes a classroom tradition for my students.”

Funded Sep 23, 2021Thank you so much for funding my classroom's color printer! After a whole year of virtual and hybrid teaching, having actual materials my students can hold, touch, and write on makes a world of difference. It helps my instruction be more engaging and ultimately, the kids learn more.
My kids love all the posters and learning materials I'm able to print for their learning. It has brought so much fun color to our classroom. I have created many learning centers that are disguised learning in the form of games or coloring. They especially love these because they think it's a form of play time.
Teaching a grade level whilst helping to "catch up" kids from the different forms of learning in the past couple of years is hard. However, your gift truly allows me the freedom to support my students as much as I can while I am able to teach them in person.”

Funded Sep 28, 2020Having access to virtual resources has been such a game changer for my students. In a virtual classroom within a pandemic, engagement and transfer of learning had to be re-imagined. The resources I was able to purchase for use in my classroom has helped both with engagement and the practice needed for learning online. We use many of the resources everyday!
From day one, my students loved the way our morning calendar routine goes. The package I purchased is interactive, inviting, and very cute-appropriate for our grade level. It is absolutely our class' favorite routines. My students always look forward to seeing and interacting with the materials.
Our school has recently reopened for in-person learning for our grade level. I'm looking forward to being able to provide helpful in-person materials for my students to learn from as well.”
