Bilingual Book Buddies-Part 2!
Funded May 5, 2020We are so thankful for more of these wonderful bilingual books. We received more fiction texts, non-fiction texts, and chapter books for students to choose from. Even during this pandemic, this collection of bilingual books has allowed my Spanish-speaking parents the opportunity to read in their native language with their children at home. My students that are learning English are excited to choose a new book each week, take it home, and read it with their families. These books allow them the opportunity to share a story with a loved one and hear fluent reading in Spanish and English. Research shows that children who are read to will later become fluent readers and grow up to enjoy reading. Thus, this program is promoting a life-long love of reading.”

We Love To Kick It!
Funded Oct 28, 2019Thank you so much for supporting our school and our students. This means so much to me.
Our students were so excited to open the packages of soccer equipment. The students at our elementary school are really enjoying our new soccer equipment. Students from kindergarten through 5th grade are playing soccer with their peers during recess. Many of our Hispanic students are sharing their love of soccer and even teaching other students how to play the game. Some students are learning about the game of soccer for the first time. Our P.E. coach uses the equipment during P.E. instruction and teaches our students about the fundamentals of this popular game.
Personally, I have loved watching our students enjoy playing soccer. Many students have expressed their gratitude to me for getting them this equipment. Thank you again. Your support means the world to us.”
