With the population of our families that are struggling financially, uniforms are often lower down on their priority list. There are many students who might frequently come every day without wearing their uniform and in some of these cases there are issues with homelessness, financial difficulties, or trauma. Students who are frequently out of uniform can be easily identified by their peers since we are a uniform school, and this can cause anxiety as a new middle school student. I would love to be able to create a reserve of uniforms to allow the Wellness Team to be able to pull aside these students and provide them with a uniform. Breaking down this simple barrier can often set a child up a more successful day because the fear of being identified by their peers as "in need" or at times "homeless" has been removed.
