Having a classroom carpet for my 2nd graders will not only brighten up our room, but it will be used as a tool in structuring our lessons such as morning meetings, read aloud, and team building. Our classroom carpet will also be used as a space for small group collaboration and partner work. I will use our classroom carpet as a tool in creating a positive classroom community. Students will be clustered in teams according to their carpet color. Students will learn and grow with their team for 6 weeks at a time before switching to working with new peers in our classroom.
