Endangered Animals Around the World
Funded Jul 2, 2024The first grade students at the Bushwick Magnet Multimedia & Arts Academy would like to say thank you for your generosity. All of the technology that was donated has enhanced our PBL unit In Endangered Animals. It has allowed our students opportunities to work as producers, directors, camera operators, researches, reports and audio technicians.
Having these tools has motivated our many English language learners and students with disabilities to participate in roles that they otherwise would not have felt confident in. This has translated into improving their writing, reading and discussion skills in class.
We are excited to see their growth and we look forward to using these tools and materials throughout the school year.”

Our Bushwick Community
Funded Apr 4, 2023The new products that were bought for our Problem Based Learning project helped our students grow in handling technology and supported them in research about their community. With the cameras the students were able to take pictures of their community and later discussed a problem that they observed. Based on their observations the students were able to create clay models and later posters to bring awareness to their community. Students created a survey for the school community and collected data. With the collected data the students were able to use building blocks to create a visual representation of their community. With the resources that we received from Donor's Choose they were able to share their findings with our school community. This in turn helped local vendors in our community who are also parents of students in our school community.”

Technology Helps Create an Exciting Classroom Environment!
Funded Nov 3, 2019We do many different projects in my classroom. One of the things that has always been a problem for my students is that they never can enhance their work with colorful photos or create exciting covers for their work. Sometimes I ask for a simple family photo and my students say that they don't have the capability to print them out.
Having a color printer in my room has allowed me to help my students create work that is more exciting to them and has allowed them to be more engaged.
Our first project that we used the color printer and Ipad was for our Biography reports. The students researched different important people. When they decided how they were going to present their report, we then googled images of their important person and they were able to print color photos to enhance their biography report. We used the Ipad to take photos and videos of our students presenting their reports to their parents and classmates.”
