  • Head Phones

    Funded May 3, 2022

Thank you so much for your generous donation to my first grade classroom. I was in need of new headphones for my students and I was able to receive 6 headphones!! We use the headphones when we do stations and my old headphones didn't fit very well and often hurt the students ears. These new ones are comfortable and are made for a child with a smaller head so they don't slide off.

Thank you so much for your generosity and our class won't forget it!! 1st grade is a fun place to learn reading and writing and I love teaching it!”

  • A Place for every student!

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you so much for your donations. I was able to get a new carpet and this carpet has a spot for every student!! The carpet is very colorful and has enough space in each block that the students feel comfortable sitting there. In my class we do a lot of carpet time so the kids can get up and move around and they enjoy going to the carpet. My school doesn't have a lot of funding so I wouldn't be able to have the carpet if it wasn't for the awesome donors out there!!

Again thank you for supporting my classroom and students.”

  • Guided Reading Stools

    Funded Dec 16, 2020

Thank you so much for the new stools for my guided reading tables. They are amazing and the kids are able to sit on them without falling out of their seat.

I believe reading is so important and in the 1st grade the kids are learning their reading foundation skills and I dedicate time each day to work on them with reading in writing in small groups. I feel that they learn better when it is a small group.

My students have come a long way this year in reading and writing and getting new chairs makes them excited to come to the guided reading table. Thanks so much!!”

  • Guided Reading Books

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

Thank you so much for your support with helping me get new guided reading books for my 1st graders. I am so excited to be able to help them with their reading skills by giving them books they can related to and stories that are fun and interesting.

We received our books last week and we have already gotten to read about our new dogs Rosie and Bella. The books also came with 2 little stuffed dogs that are Rosie and Bella my students love them.

Thank you again and I know these new books will not only help my first graders this year with their reading skills, but my first graders for years to come!!”

  • Guided Reading Chairs

    Funded May 5, 2020

Thank you so much for your donations. My school doesn't have a lot of funding and it is awesome that I am able to use donor's choose to help me with items for my classroom.

I originally ordered chairs for my guided reading table, but I wasn't able to get them. Instead a got some new puzzle pieces for my flooring and I am able to separate my students better. This is awesome because of the new Covid rules and I need to keep my students apart but we still new to do time close together.

    Thanks you so much!”

  • Functional Small Group Table for Guided Reading

    Funded Jan 23, 2020

My new table is so awesome and my student love it!! It is colorful and I have added sticky white boards and alphabet charts to it so when we do guided reading they have their supplies ready to go.

It is much bigger than my old table and It seats 6 students comfortably and my last table really fit 5 which include the teacher. The shape of this table is a kidney bean shape so I am able to reach across the table to show students a word to work on or slow check a word when they are writing.

I love this table so much and it makes my job much easier and more accessible to work on guided reading skills each day. Thanks!!”

  • Growing Up With Technology!

    Funded Oct 30, 2019

Technology is helping my students learn because they are getting to do different activities that allows them to learn new words or challenge themselves with math problems. It is always more fun to learn with technology when children are little. They are growing up with technology in their homes unlike when I was a child.

We were able to get 3 kindles that I used as a station and an incentive when they get their work done early. I have seen some of my slower students get work done quicker and correctly so they can do activities on the kindles. I have downloaded several learning games and the students like to challenge themselves especially in Math.

Most of my higher students have warmed to this technology and it has been a great learning tool to them. My higher students get finished quickly and don't require a lot of support from me and I need activities to keep them engaged in learning and the kindles help with this.

Thank you so much to the donors who helped support my project.”

Technology is our future and children seem to be born ready to use it. I would love to have some kindles in my classroom so that students can use them during center time when I am teaching guided reading. Students will rotate each day and I will have 7 stations so they only get to use them every 7 school days. Students love technology and they would be allowed to use Starfall and Story-time to help them build up their reading and writing skills. They can also use Zearn to help them with their math. The kindles can be programmed to have different applications that are suitable to my first-grade class and they will only be allowed to the educational games that are on it.
