  • Make You Move with Our Words

    I am so grateful for your generous donation, which has allowed my students to embark on a creative journey in crafting their very own poetry book. Your contribution has provided them with a unique opportunity to explore their creativity in a meaningful way, and it has been truly transformative.

    One of the ways technology has played a vital role in this project is by enabling my students to engage with the writing process in new and innovative ways. Using digital tools, they have been able to experiment with different formats, edit their work more efficiently, and collaborate on ideas from anywhere, fostering a sense of community and connection, even outside of the classroom. Technology also allows for the seamless integration of multimedia elements, such as adding visuals or audio to their poems, enhancing their storytelling and making the final product more dynamic.

    The most exciting part of this project for my students has been seeing their work come to life in a published format. Many of them have never had the opportunity to create something so tangible and professionally presented before. The ability to hold their poetry book in their hands and share it with family and friends has sparked a sense of pride and accomplishment that goes beyond what they could have imagined.

    As for particular students, I've noticed that some of my more introverted learners have particularly thrived with the use of technology. Tools like word processors, voice-to-text, and digital artwork programs have given them an outlet to express themselves in ways they might not have done through traditional methods. Their newfound confidence in using technology has translated into a deeper passion for writing and has allowed them to experiment with their poetry in ways that are often more accessible and comfortable for them.

    Overall, this project has given my students a voice and the tools to amplify it, and it wouldn't have been possible without your support. Thank you once again for making this dream a reality.”

  • Calming Garden Room!

    I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for your incredible support of our classroom. Thanks to your generosity, we now have a variety of calming and sensory toys and tools that have already made a significant impact on my students' learning experience.

    Since receiving these materials, my students have been able to engage in their work with greater focus and emotional regulation. One specific example that stands out is during a recent math project. We incorporated the sensory toys into a calm-down corner, where students who were feeling overwhelmed could go to refocus and self-regulate. The results were astounding. Several students who typically struggle with staying on task were able to return to their work feeling refreshed and ready to learn, increasing their productivity and engagement.

    When the materials first arrived, the excitement was palpable. Students were eager to explore the new tools and quickly recognized how they could use them to help manage their energy. The calming fidget toys, in particular, were an instant hit. Students immediately began using them during independent work time and group activities, helping them maintain their focus and avoid distractions.

    Looking ahead, we plan to integrate these resources into more structured lessons, especially as we begin exploring creative projects in the coming weeks. For instance, during our next writing unit, students will be able to use the sensory tools to aid in brainstorming and drafting their ideas, helping them stay engaged and focused. The calming toys will continue to provide the support they need to stay grounded during both collaborative work and independent learning.

  • A Healthy Mind and Happy Smiles Improve the Classroom Environment

    Thanks to your generous support, our classroom has seen a remarkable improvement in both focus and well-being. The healthy snacks and sensory toys have already made a big difference in my students' daily routines. For example, during a long reading session last week, I noticed several students who typically struggle with concentration were able to stay focused after enjoying a quick healthy snack and using a sensory toy to help regulate their energy. One student, who often fidgets, was able to use a stress ball to stay calm and engaged while reading, allowing him to participate more fully in our group discussions.

    When the students first saw the materials, their faces lit up. They were excited to have these tools at their disposal, and it was clear that they felt cared for, knowing that their well-being was being prioritized. The snacks have not only provided much-needed energy but also sparked conversations about the importance of healthy eating, while the sensory toys have helped create a more calm and supportive learning environment.

    Next, we're working on integrating these resources into our daily routines more consistently. My plan is to encourage students to use the sensory toys during transitions or when they need a moment to refocus. We're also starting a new project where students will reflect on how healthy snacks and mindful moments impact their learning, which will help them connect their well-being to their academic performance.   • Laptops to Meet Our iReady Goals

    Thank you very much for the laptops and headphones. The students are able to meet their iReady weekly goals and we are able to include more technology in our lessons due to us having the laptops and headphones. The students loves how the laptops are not heavy and they're very sleek and easy to carry around the classroom. The headphones has a built in speaker and the students loves how comfortable they are on their ears. My students are not used to reviewing generous items like these and they were extremely excited to know that someone cares for them and wants the best for their education. Thank you again.”

My students are expected to log on to iReady daily, which is an online intervention that allows us to monitor our students' progress while they are learning new skills and reinforcing previously taught skills. However, my students lack headphones and, without headphones, they are not able to actually focus and receive the full impact of the online program. In addition, my class lacks a printer. Having a printer would allow my reading coach and I to print resources that can assist my students in receiving the rigorous instruction that we are introducing to them. Being able to print instantly will allow my students to be introduced to countless materials, such as reading passages, poems, and writing activities.
