  • Aquatic Exploration

    Funded Jun 14, 2016

Thank you so much for funding Our Aquatic Exploration Project. My students are very excited to be caring for their individual goldfish and each student has named their fish. Having the fish in the classroom has made my students more caring and much calmer. They feed the fish and change the tank water regularly. They also observe their fish, discuss and make notes about their observations.

My students were very excited when they first saw the materials. First the individual tanks arrived, then the fish food and finally the goldfish. Before the goldfish arrived we learned how to take care of goldfish by reading books, discussing what we learned and taking notes. When the goldfish arrived we set up the tanks with rocks and plants before introducing the fish into the tanks.

The next steps for my students with this project is for them to continue taking care of their fish, observe them as they grow and note their observations.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Johnson

  • Developing Technology Savvy Whiz Kidz

    Funded May 2, 2013

My students are very excited about the Ipad and send their thanks to you for your generous donation. They have been very eager to use the device and are able to pick it up and use it with ease.

My students use the Ipad to read interactive books independently and with partners, practice math skills, and look up information or images on topics we are studying. They also work more effectively in collaborative small groups using the Ipad. This device helps motivate and engage them. I use the Ipad to collect student data, monitor student growth and to take notes.

The Ipad has boosted my teaching and learning because it has helped to enhance student engagement, collaboration, and communication skills. Students have become more engaged in their learning when using the Ipad and feel empowered by their accomplishments. Once again we thank you for your support.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Johnson

My students are special education third and fourth graders in a Title 1 Public Elementary School with many challenges. They are mostly visual and auditory learners with inquisitive minds and outgoing personalities. However, they have a very limited idea of the outside world. Even though they are eager to learn, they have a very short attention span and the iPad will aid in maintaining their interests.
