  • Back to School! Supplies and More

    Funded Aug 19, 2023

Thank you so much for funding our project! My students have been able to be successful in the classroom because they have the necessary supplies. Many of them could not afford their own headphones, so those students are now able to utilize our online programs to supplement their learning without having to wait to borrow one of the extra sets of headphones I had.

In our classroom, we use white boards daily for working out math problems. The additional dry erase markers have helped so much! We also do a lot of cutting and gluing assignments to reinforce fine motor skills. These activities are much easier to accomplish when everyone has a good pair of scissors and enough glue sticks to go around.

Finally, the cardboard dividers have helped me to ensure that I am gathering accurate data when we do whole group assessments. It's so helpful for everyone to have their own divider.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Morgan

  • Learning Through Listening: Read Along Books and More!

    Funded Nov 5, 2022

Thank you so much for providing my class with wonderful new books, audio books, and stuffed animals of some of the book characters. My students love going to the listening center during our daily centers. They have all been exposed to many more books now that we have a vast listening center library.

Each day, my students rotate through 5 reading/language arts centers (1. Teacher's Table, 2. Writing 3. Technology 4. Listening Center 5. Spelling). I have a few students who struggle to regulate their emotions, and sometimes aren't able to rotate through the centers with their group. The "book buddy" stuffed animals have allowed them to participate in the listening center along with their peers. Having something to hold that matches the character in the book they are listening to has really helped them to stay focused on the story.

Once again, I greatly appreciate your contribution to our classroom. My students will benefit from these resources for years to come!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Morgan

  • Go Chrome!

    Funded Nov 6, 2019

Thank you for your generous contribution to my Donors Choose project, Go Chrome! Our class received one HP Chromebook with the help of your donation.

My classroom is full of eager learners, and technology is one of their favorite ways to explore. With this Chromebook, the children are able to access different sites which help extend their learning. My students are able to work in small groups to complete projects and play learning games. They love being competitive! They have even started to learn how to type correctly.

Having access to technology right in our own classroom has done wonders for our learning centers. I have many students who do not have a computer at home, so they are extra excited to be able to use one every day in class. Thank you for your donation!”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Morgan

My students have never lived in a world without technology. They are actively engaged any time technology is used in our classroom. The addition of a Chromebook to our learning centers will allow my students to practice letters, letter sounds, numbers, and math facts while playing on this Chromebook. They will also begin typing lessons to ensure that they are prepared for the implementation of computerized testing in their futures. This Chromebook will also allow my students to access our Wonders reading curriculum. They can practice reading and oral language skills individually or with a partner. These activities will assist my students in becoming self-sufficient learners, which will prepare them for the technological advancement of our world.
