Using these books will help teach students how to take math notes that are organized and useful. Our math department uses these across math classes which creates continuity for students as they move up the math ladder. Many of my former students also reported using them in their college classes! They have improved our math scores over the years (jumped from 15 to 35% over two years). It provides a place for students to take ownership of their own learning and self -eflect about the material. These notebooks are used to promote reviewing one's work and learning how to reference learned topics throughout the school year and beyond.
