  • Financial-App-a- Listas

    Funded Apr 25, 2020

Thank you so much for your generosity. The new addition to our classroom (The IPad) has been very exciting for most of my students. We have created a routine where students earn time throughout their hard work in class to spend on the tablet using new apps to help them learn how to manage money.

It has encouraged scholars to inquire and discuss how to use their money wisely. You can hear them have very detailed conversations on how they should spend their budget. Therefore, they are learning how to prioritize in very realistic situations allowing them for an opportunity to prepare for their future.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Arroyo

  • Financially Able Classroom Store

    Funded Apr 24, 2020

My students and I appreciate all of your donations and generosity towards us. We want to share with you how we felt when we received the packages. To put it into words it felt like Christmas all over again.

We were ecstatic to have all the basic resources needed for our daily work. The most exciting part for my scholars were the snacks, and the new school supplies. Things that may be basic and taken for granted but for us are extremely necessary to be successful.

It is very rewarding as a teacher to see my students work hard to earn enough points to pick their snacks at the end of class.”

  • Food For Thought

    Funded Sep 27, 2019

Thank you so much for your extreme generosity. My students and I were absolutely astounded when the boxes came. It was Christmas all over again.

We think that a snack is just a little something but in my classroom it has proven to be a big deal.

In the middle of the day or towards the end of the day, the snacks become magic. They give power and energy. Suddenly, the class that was listless and tired to the bone is revived. There is joy, there is laughter and there is gratitude in the shy smile of the student that was hungry.

Thank you so much for making such a big difference in our classrooms.”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Arroyo

Mother Theresa wrote: "If you can't feed one hundred people, then feed just one." I would love to feed all my students always but will be happy to touch a few. When the stomach is churning in hunger, the mind refuses to focus on learning. I want to provide snacks (popcorn, chips, Nature Valley bars) for my children when the mid-afternoon hunger kicks in. I would like to offer the granola bars, chips, and healthy snacks from this project to make the playing field even for all our students. Having students not reaching their learning goals because they are hungry is unthinkable. The resources from this project will make it possible for my students to stay ready to learn and to meet every learning goals and beyond.
