A projector and document camera are an essential part of any reading class to strengthen literacy skills and reading strategies. These materials will make learning easier for readers who struggle to make sense of what they are reading, especially complex texts. A projector and document camera will allow me to display complex text while teaching vocabulary, text marking strategies, and guiding my students toward a deeper understanding of a piece of text. Modeled instruction of text paired with explicit, teacher-led instruction will strengthen my students reading abilities, vocabulary knowledge, and independence along the way. These skills are essential in all the classes they are taking in school.
