In my short time of being a teacher, there are a few things I have learned. 1. All students need love. 2. Never give up on a student. 3. All students learn differently. The first two apply to how I teach and who I am as a person, but number three is about their creative minds and how to access and excite them. Students have the world at their fingertips- why do they need teachers? What is our purpose if we cannot change ourselves to their needs? When I was in high school, I had a hard time learning because I am a hands-on learner. I struggle to read a book and take a test over it. As I started my teaching profession, I finally realized that I was not alone and that many students learn this exact way- especially today. Not only does their mind have to be excited, but so do their hands. They need to be able to take what is in their minds and put it on a platform. That platform can be the internet, a poster, a project, an essay, anything. I teach agriculture and so many students are uninformed as to what that is and how important it is to our society and the future of the world. I teach them that THEY can make the next big invention that solves world hunger or animal abuse. I do not feed them information, instead, I let their minds wander to think of their own solutions to today's problems. The ONLY way that this is possible is to allow them to become the problem solvers and the inventors. With the requested items, I will teach my students the true value of creation and the value of themselves. To prepare them for the future that THEY create.
