The Hygiene Closet
Funded Feb 13, 2025All I can say right now is WOW! Some of our students struggle with money and their hygiene is often affected by that directly. Donating these items to us will allow us to offer them here for free. This is amazing, I cannot wait to share the news with my principal. It is also going to help our student leaders.”

Funded Feb 12, 2025I cannot express how thankful I am for your generosity. My students are going to be so excited. They love the idea of gardening and planting fruits, vegetables, and herbs but we have never had the funding to purchase the necessary supplies. Thanks again I can't wait for the resource to arrive so we can get started.”

This classroom project was brought to life by Johnson Ohana Foundation and 3 other donors.Mental Health Project
Funded Sep 24, 2024I am currently using the games, sensory items, and snacks to help motivate students to get to class, to socialize with classmates, and overall to help improve their social and intellectual wellness through play.
Every Friday the students have a choice to either make up work if they are missing anything or to challenge a classmate to a game. I encourage students to win and lose with grace and to strategize winning.
My students love when I push the game/ sensory bin/ and brain teasers cart into the classroom. At first, I had to persuade students to play a game, now they rush to the cart!
Thank you so very much for your generosity.”

Capturing a Community Digitally
Funded Jul 31, 2020I would like to take this time to thank you for your generosity and to speak to you briefly about the impact you have had on my current teaching status.
When this pandemic started I was so overwhelmed with anxiety because I have never taught remotely before. I had an old laptop and no many creative skills related to technology.
When I received the new laptop, headphones, and tablet a lot of new doors opened for me. I was able to download new programs, train and learn new programs and I was able to use things like meditation, yoga, pear deck, downdog, padlet, loom, bitmoji, and most importantly I was able to show my camera for students to see me.
Before you donated these items to me I was lost and I no longer feel that way. I have students who are now into meditation and yoga because I was able to show them how to incorporate that into their lives. Students have really struggled socially and emotionally but by giving them these new tools they are doing better.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your generosity. I look forward to bringing more and more creativity to my classes now that I have more access.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Maiorini
