  • Lunar New Year Experience for Firsties

    Funded Dec 24, 2024

Thank you to all the donors who helped us fund this project for Lunar New Year. My students are diverse, some coming from Mexico, Central America, and Bangladesh. They are eager to share their culture and learn about other cultures and traditions.

Celebrating Lunar New Year will help my students build respect for other cultures around the world.

This year, we learned about and celebrated the Year of the Snake. We completed a variety of crafts that will require red and yellow paper. They will learn about the significance of the color red, the red envelopes and the gold coins.

All of these hands-on learning experiences will make a difference in my students' learning because it will promote an understanding of diverse traditions and allow my students to appreciate the importance of family and community within different cultures.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Slayton

  • Book! Books! And More Books!

    Funded Dec 18, 2024

Thank you to each and every donor who helped us fund this project for books! I was excited to provide my students with these resources! My goal for this project was to have engaging books for our Early World Civilization Units in 1st grade. My students have been extremely interested in our new units and asking for additional books!

My 1st-grade students and I thank you for your support in exploring the world through additional books for our social studies units.

These books will not only enhance their understanding of history and diversity but also inspire a lifelong love for learning. Your generous donation will make a lasting impact on their educational journey.”

  • Math Tools for Firsties

    Funded Dec 4, 2024

Thank you to each and every donor who helped us fund this project for math tools! My students love math and enjoy any opportunity for a hands-on learning experience. These math manipulatives play a helpful role in teaching math concepts to children. They help students see the math and physically engage with math.

The dominoes and 1-120 wipe boards will be used for math games, small group instruction and during 1:1 learning. I believe that with these math manipulatives my students will have fun and become successful mathematicians! Thank you all once again from the bottom of my heart!”

  • STEM Ginger Bread House Part 2

    Funded Dec 3, 2024

Thank you so much to every donor who helped us bring this project to life! This hands-on project allowed me to provide each pair of students with the necessary materials to complete the challenge. Gingerbread house building is a perfect way for my students to be able to collaborate, create, build, design, and problem-solve while having fun. My students really enjoyed taking their structures home, explaining the process to their families, and then taking them apart by eating all of the decorations.

This gingerbread house project always brings so much joy to my students, and I really enjoy observing their creative minds at work. Thank you all again for supporting our classroom!”

  • STEM Planes for FIrsties

    Funded Oct 28, 2024

Thank you to everyone who helped us fund this project for STEM Planes! This is an activity we do at the end of the school year! My first graders will design their very own airplanes! The craft kit will allow my students to create fast-flying gliders—for a fun-filled introduction to early STEAM concepts! Ideal for integrating STEM with arts and crafts.

My little learners will use the precut pieces to build and customize a plane with their craft materials!

Lastly, my students will test and fine-tune their creations—until they have a plane that soars! I've also included crayons and paint sticks to help with the decorations. I can't wait to for my students make these airplanes and put our learning into action! Thank you for your support!”

  • Help Me Learn English Part 2

    Funded Oct 17, 2024

Thank you to each and every donor who helped us fund this project for my first graders.

Since a majority of my students are English language learners, I requested phonemic journals and sound mirrors to help my first-grade English language learners. These journals and mirrors can help turn learning a new language into a positive experience.

Students will have their own activities and mirrors to help them learn the sounds and access to word cards, pictures, and sentences for matching and writing sentences.

These resources help English language learners remember language in a fun way. My students will be so excited to play with these mirrors as they learn the new language.

Thank you all so much for your generous donation to our project so that my English language learners will have a wonderful experience learning English!”

    With gratitude,
