Circle Time!

Thank you very much for your generous donations. We were able to get a beautiful new carpet, quite large enough to fit all of our students on for circle time, and maintain our social distancing in the classroom. We have been doing a lot of dancing and story time!
We are able to have our centers activities, imaginary play and literacy with plenty of space to spread out.
In the colder weather, we've had space inside to have gross motor activities such as yoga, basketball, and bowling for our students. It's so important to have space to move around and get some energy out!

My preschoolers need a new carpet for their classroom. We currently have a too-small rug to allow at least eight children to sit and be socially distanced. It is the old carpet that was in the room, and it is old and stained. The floor underneath is hard cement. Our little ones spend a lot of time on the floor. The carpet is where we will gather for circle time, read-aloud, music, and movement, and it is where our classroom community building will start taking place. When we gather on our carpet together, we have music and movement on the carpet before the children pull out their cube chairs to sit for circle time. An enormous rug would give the children enough space to dance and sit for a circle. They also use the carpet for developmental centers, such as dramatic play, sensory activities, and block building.
