During our class time, students are part of guided reading groups. In these groups, they are supported in the areas of reading strategies and behaviors. The ultimate goal is that they become fluent, independent, and avid readers. With this donation, students will be motivated to take home books of their choice from our classroom library. Additionally, our struggling readers will take home books that are at their independent level so that they may practice decoding and work towards becoming fluent readers. Finally, I want to create a classroom culture where literacy is not a chore but an enjoyable daily habit.

About my class
