This year, students will learn many foundational skills in reading, writing, math, science and social studies. As an educator, especially in the early childhood field, I believe that I am responsible for providing students with positive learning experiences. The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students will do just that and more! The manipulatives I selected will help reach the different learning styles my students might have by supporting them visually and kinesthetically. Some of the topics we will be learning about in math is counting, sorting, patterning, basic addition and subtraction and the interlocking gram unit cubes, two-color counters and the three-bear family counter set will help students with these concepts. The WikkiStix alphabet card sets and the wax craft stix will be used to help with letter recognition and letter formation. The alphabet stamp set and the magnetic letters will be used for letter recognition and building CVC words and sight words. To help students build a love for reading, the Little Leveled Readers will be the best way to increase reading ability as it will help students grow stronger. With these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books and be able to select books that interest them. These level books will allow my students to read independently at their own reading level and help them build confidence to help them move up reading levels. My goal, as a teacher, is to help discover the joy of learning and to help each child develop a strong belief in his or her own ability to achieve. Give students the gift of education by donating beneficial supplies.
