Fun Learning
Funded Aug 3, 2020I am grateful and thankful for the resources that were donated to my class. The materials that we received have been useful for my students. The beginning of this school year was something different and unusual than before. My students were receiving virtual classes and I was teaching from home due to the pandemic. Mid-September was a rough change for my students and myself since the teachers had to report to school to teach in person and parents needed to decide if they were sending their children to school. Most of my students were still at home taking classes virtually and I have couple face to face.
The school I teach is considered a Title 1 school due that most of the students received reduce lunch. Due to the pandemic this year I decide to not ask for materials from my student's parents and decide to do a Donor Choose to help parents and students with the relieve of thinking and stressing out of buying materials. The parents and students are grateful that this year they got new materials donated to them. My students and I have been using the new resources during class by completing different projects throughout my lessons and activities that they complete for homework. We use the materials during small group, intervention, and centers. We use alphabet learning blocks while learning the alphabet and sounds. The word building blocks help students identify, write, and read the high frequency words.
My class just completed the end of the year assessments and many were able to reach their end of year goals. With these materials they were able to master some TEKS and improved academically. My students are thankful for the materials they have received. Their reactions when receiving the materials were happy and enthusiastic faces knowing that they have materials that they can use during class to express themselves through the lessons. The materials help my students demonstrate growth throughout the year due that they were able to use hands on materials and manipulatives that were fun to use while learning.
I cannot express enough how thankful I am for receiving the materials for my class that have help my students do different hands on activities. I appreciated everyone that have made this donation possible and gave my students a smile. I will keep using the materials donated during class for activities and centers. My students have been so grateful for this opportunity. We thank you for helping us get the resources we need to make this year successful. Thank you for giving us hope and something we can look forward toward every day during this difficult year that has change our lives. We appreciate your dedication towards our community.”

We use the composition notebooks as journals for each subject in order to have our notes and classwork in one place. We use the colors and markers to provide a more colorful and beautiful visual that my students can refer too. The construction paper, glue and scissors are used for different projects such as arts and crafts.
My class just completed the project for the month of December, which was to create a snowman spelling their name and doing a riddle. My students are thankful for the materials they have received. Their reactions when receiving the materials were happy and enthusiastic faces knowing that they have materials that they can use during class to express themselves through the lessons. The next project for my class to do and use the materials been given is to complete a math project that will be displayed in our classroom bulletin board. The idea of the project is for them to use their materials to create a bubble machine decomposing a number up to 20. This will help me assess my students in a fun and creative way.

Funded Jan 16, 2020My students and I are so grateful and thankful for the materials we have received. When I gave them the news that we received the materials we ask for, they were full of joy. Their little faces were priceless as I show them the delivered materials. It was a moment to remember. It was when I realize that a box of crayons can make a child really happy. It was like a was giving them a happy meal box but instead of receiving a meal they were receiving materials that made their learning fun.
My students and I, are using the materials daily by completing projects in the class and doing activities that will enhance their learning. The students use the crayons and glue when coloring and pasting an important project such as holiday projects that are displayed in our bulletin board outside of our classroom. They also use the playdoh when doing centers. Many students enjoy the center that have playdoh because they are using their hands to learn. That has improved their phonics recognition and I have seen growth on their phonics assessments. The Lysol wipes have help maintain our class clean and have help prevent the spread of the flu in our classroom.
My class and I are very grateful and thankful for the materials we received. Thank you for your support and donations to make one of our goal be accomplished this academic year. We appreciate all the happiness you have give us.”

Ms. Rios
