Students learn in many ways! In our school we have many students that need the extra hands on practice to boost their participation in activities. Literacy centers are a big part of individualizing and differentiating instruction. By allowing students to manipulate letters and center activities, we are hoping to increase reading skills from well below/below basic to proficient. In preparation for second grade, learning site words and basic reading skills is extremely important for student success. The activities needed will increase engagement, writing, and phonics skills. Small group and teacher centers will only increase abilities and boost confidence within the students.
