  • Writing Journals for Kindergarten

    Thank you for your generous donation to our journals project. When my students first saw the packaged journals arrive, they could not wait to use them. They are exactly what was needed in order for my students to continue to write and express themselves authentically. They use them daily during their independent work time and they especially love to write in them when they do not have an assigned writing prompt.

    We are almost at the end of the school year and my plan is to send home the journals for students to continue to work on their writing over the summer. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.”

  • Ladybugs and Butterflies, Oh My!

    I can't thank you enough for helping to fund our insects project. My students were so excited to see the cup of caterpillars and tube of larvae arrive. They observed these insects daily and watched them change through their different stages, and finally turn into beautiful butterflies and ladybugs. They drew and wrote about their observations in their science journals.

    Fortunately, we were just about to go off on spring break when the insects finally emerged into their adult stages. My students were able to see the whole wonderful event. I can't thank you enough for bringing this amazing scientific transformation into our classroom.”

All children receive free breakfast and lunch due to this neighborhood's socioeconomic status. They come from a wonderful mix of ethnic and economic backgrounds, and despite any challenges that my students may face, they come to school daily prepared to do their best. My students truly inspire me with their passion and insatiable love for learning.

About my class
