Chemistry is fascinating! As a child, I would spend hours mixing random chemicals in the bathroom sink to see how they would react. (Not advised!) Every child should have a chance to learn about the "magic" of physical changes and chemical reactions -- even those who are learning from home. These lab supplies, goggles, aprons, digital scales, and other science materials will allow my students a chance to explore the properties of matter in a safe, controlled environment (whether that is in the classroom or at home). Sure, I could have students watch me demonstrate various concepts, but hands-on experimentation gets them excited and engaged. In addition to learning about chemistry, students learn how to follow explicit directions, work together as a team, and accurately record their findings, and draw conclusions. It's first-hand experience with the scientific method.
