By using items such as the straws and connectors, magnatiles, building blocks, building flakes, etc., students will be able to solve real-world problems through building structures and using their creativity to create solutions in ways that might not be common. These items will be placed in Centers where students will play together and learn through their play. They will also be used for whole group class STEAM lessons. STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math. All of these things will be addressed through lessons that may be taught through Science, Math, Literature, or Social Studies. STEAM is a wonderful way to integrate all of the subjects together.
