  • Community School Supply Center

    Funded Mar 25, 2025

Thank you so much for your kind donation. Rest assured that your donation is being put to good use with much needed supplies for my students.

My student and I will put these supplies to good use. Being close to the end of the year, supplies dwindle and with low income families, it is hard to restock.

Once again, thank you for your generous donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Garza

  • I See, I See How To Do It

    Funded Mar 23, 2022

I want to thank you for your donation to my project. The funds allowed me to get an eleven inch tablet that I use in class. This tablet has been used in a multiple of ways.

I have used it to facilitate lesson when I use a platform called Nearpod. I am able to execute a lesson and have control of it via the tablet. I also project what I have on my tablet to the projector/interactive board.

As part of my curriculum that I implement, students need to log into Learning Ally to access audiobooks. Students take turns to use the tablet to log into Learning Ally.

I have used the tablet whenever I attend meetings from my district. The tablet allows me to log into different platforms and become a better participant.

I once again, give you thanks for aiding me in becoming an efficient teacher and for giving my students a way to enjoy audiobooks.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Garza

    Funded May 3, 2022

Thank you so much for your generosity. This will help my students and the anxiety that they experience or for those of my kiddos that have been diagnosed as having Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). Both of these type of students will benefit greatly from the anxiety reducing items. Once again, thank you so much for your generosity.”

  • Let's Get Back to Work!

    Funded Jul 12, 2021

Thank you so much for funding my project. The items that I received help me and my students tremendously. One of the items that had an impacted my students the most is the earbuds. They have come in handy and are utilized daily in my classroom. I was able to get one set of earbuds for each of my students. My students were thrilled with the variety of colors that they had to choose from. The mechanical pencils were a big hit with my students as well. Some had never had one in their hand and it was great to see how they kept breaking the point until they figured out the amount of pressure to place on it. Again, thank you so much for your generosity.”

  • Teacher, Teacher Where Are You?

    Funded May 7, 2021

Thank you so much for funding my project. It was funded just in time to use it in the summer school program, where there was no technology available. By having this laptop, I was able to use to execute my lessons. I was able to show my Google Slides presentation for my lessons to my students. My summer school students were excited that the lesson was clearly shown and could hear the videos clearly. During the summer school program, students also took turns to use the laptop in choosing a book to share with the group and hear it read to them. The student took over the laptop and was the teacher during this part of the lesson. During the start of this school year, I did not have technology to use in my classes. This also helped me present my lessons. I am grateful that I had this laptop to save me and allow me to execute my lessons.”

  • Where Are Thou Reading Lounge?

    Funded May 5, 2020

I am so excited to have received donations that enabled me to purchase items for my Reading Lounge. Thank you so much for donating to my project. Unfortunately, due to COVID, I live in a hot zone and the school district is giving parents an option to choose face to face learning or remote learning. Most of my students, 17 out of 20, are remote learners. Those that are face o face are following strict procedures when on campus and cannot share items.

I know that once I have all my students are face to face, they will enjoy the lounge immensely and it will enable me to promote reading to my students. I plan on having my students come in during their lunch time and have time to read once they are done with their meal. I will also be making it available in the morning for the early birds.

Thank you, once again, for donating to my project. In the pictures I did not have any of my students to participate but I arranged for my daughter to pose so you can see how I will be using my Reading Lounge.”

  • Yay! I Can Hear and Learn

    Funded Dec 25, 2019

I am so very grateful for your donation. I am working with students that come from below poverty levels. My school is located in that area of town and we are not as technology equipped as other campuses. Students were so excited to use the headphones when I showed it to them.

These headphone will be making a huge impact with my students academic performance. Over 60% of my students are ELL learners and need the practice in speaking English; with these headphones, they will be able to use Flipgrid and practice video taping themselves and sharing their videos. For my dyslexic students, they will also be able to utilize Learning Ally to help them read books.

I am proponent of integrating technology into academic lessons and now I will be able to make a greater impact on my execution of lessons to benefit my students.

I am forever grateful for your generous donation.”

    With gratitude,

    Mrs. Garza

Technology is embedded into the lessons to get students to become comfortable with this platform. Students get to practice skills and concepts learned and to venture into areas that extend the lesson. For example, if we are studying marine life, the students are able to go on a virtual tour and interact with a marine biologist. Students have access to different computer software that has animated effects and sound, by having students use their own headphones will facilities their learning. Education Galaxy is one software that students use with animated effects and sounds. Students work at their own level and at their own pace, so headphones are essentials.
