Next Level ELA Cafe
Funded Sep 21, 2022This has been an amazing opportunity for students to. gain access to new and different books that are perfect for their age range, and earn prizes while they read. I've seen a considerable increase in the Accelerated Reader points for individual students and classes as a whole.
The competition will continue throughout Quarter 3 and into Quarter 4. Right now, students have multiple opportunities to win some of the prizes purchased through a unique Quarter 3 Reading Challenge that encourages them to read books recommended by friends, family members, or teachers; and books that are outside of their favorite genre.
Thank you so much for your generosity!”

Funded Mar 13, 2022Thank you so much for adding to the overall look and feel of my classroom. I added a rocking saucer chair, a cafe table and two barstools, a leather bench, and two grey floor rockers. All of these things are easy to store, and easy to get out and put away for each class period. I also selected some great coffee themed bulletin board additions that completed the overall appearance and feel of the room.
The look on students' faces was amazing when they saw the new seating options! I had to immediately come up with a way for students to take turns with the new seats. Students that completed homework on time or took an Accelerated Reader quiz were able to be the first to select the unique seating during our "Starbucks Mode" time. During "Starbucks Mode" students are able to sit in a seat where they can be successful while soft music plays in the background. It allows them time to work independently or with a partner without remaining in their desk for the entire class period.
I love this new arrangement and I know that the students do to! I look forward to adding more unique seating options and finding other ways to reward my students for working hard in the classroom.”
