This year we have 30% population of students with special needs. The classifications range from mild LD to severe ED and ADHD. A lot of students only way of deescalating is by yelling to adults or peers, fighting, or talking to adults and calming strategies. The items in this donor's choose will show students other ways to deal with negative stress before it gets to the tipping points. Many of the products will also help with sensory integration while students are engaged in a lesson. These days students have so many distractions and they need items to help them focus. The students will then be in environments that make them feel safe, calm and in control of their actions while attending to tasks that will engage their senses for positive growth.
