Cozy Kindergarten Book Nook

This year has been different from any other, as I'm sure you know. The wonderful materials that you purchased for our class sat unused for many weeks as we tried our best to follow Covid safety regulations and students looked on in dismay that they weren't able to enter our colorful, inviting reading area. On the day when it was finally allowable for them to enter, in small numbers of course, they were ecstatic! They quickly found a soft cushion, a book with their favorite characters, and snuggled in for a good read.

From a teacher perspective, it was magical to see children wanting to read above other center options in the class. Labels, colorful bins, and cozy seating drew them in and continue to make our reading corner a popular place to be. The bins made it easy for students to both choose a book and clean up after themselves. The cushions are made of a wipeable material that can be sanitized quickly so that multiple groups are able to use the area per day.

In the future, we hope to add more reading material that are student driven, interactive, and build on our curriculum. Thank you so much for helping create this space for us and making a difference in the educational experience of my sweet students!”
