In our class, we have a period of time where I am able to work with students who are struggling readers. We will use these manipulatives and books in our small reading groups. Students will use the manipulatives to segment and blend words as they are practicing their phonics skills. Many of our students struggle connecting speech to print. The books will add variety to our lessons which will improve engagement. The headphones will help students use adaptive software to challenge their reading ability. Learning to read is the most important part of first grade. These materials will benefit all of my wonderful students!
