Coming Together in Second Grade!
Funded Jun 7, 2023Thank you so much for helping me provide a new meeting area rug for our Second Grade classroom. My students were so excited to see the new rug when they entered our classroom on the first day of school. We had outgrown the rug we had in first grade and now have plenty of room to meet comfortably and work together during whole group instruction. Students love having their own spot on the rug with plenty of space between themselves and their peers.
Thank you for your generosity and helping to make our classroom a cozy and comfortable area for all students to learn.”

Math Blox: Building a Strong Mathematical Foundation
Funded Nov 15, 2020Thank you so much for giving my students the opportunity to learn addition facts using Sum Blox. When I first introduced the blocks to my students, they only saw the number not how each number was sized differently to represent its value compared to the other numbers. We had a class discussion on why the creator might have done this with the blocks. After our discussion, my students were able to create a sum using the blocks and then quickly create other number sentences that equalled the same sum. The visual has been very helpful for my struggling students. I have extended my higher achieving students by have them use multiple addenda (3 or more) to make a desired sum. They love using the blocks and don't even realize they are doing math!”

First Grade Mathematicians at Work!
Funded Oct 18, 2019Thank you so much for helping my classroom get our new whiteboard table, markers, and erasers. All of the students were so excited walking into the classroom the day after it was delivered and couldn't wait to get their hands on some markers. We use our table daily to practice high frequency words, spelling words, and solve math problems. Having a table that the students can write on has cut down on transition time with getting whiteboards out and our groups run much more smoothly.
Our next adventure will be using the table as a grafetti board to share their thinking after reading a specific text.
Thanks again for helping our ourclassroom.!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Lohrman
