  • Foster a Love for Reading

    Funded Sep 5, 2019

    Thank you so much for your contribution to my classroom! My students were absolutely thrilled when they saw the donations. I have had students regularly searching the bookshelf for a new book to read. They always get so excited when they find a story that captures their attention. One student in particular checks out a new book from my classroom almost every week! Although I am a special education teacher that focuses on math remediation, the bookworm in me gets so happy when I see a student that is excited to read.

    I also want to point out the wonderful new posters that were part of the contribution. They have added so much color and encouragement to my classroom. When I see a student struggling, I'll sometimes catch them reading the posters around the room as a way of motivating themselves to push through. Thank you for giving my students words of encouragement and motivation to work through their struggles.”

Many of the students I serve have special needs or are English language learners, and would benefit from having access to popular and age-appropriate literature in their first language. A majority of my students do not have access to books that they are interested in and it is my goal to provide them with stories that they truly want to read. I would love to be able to provide my students with a book that sparks a love for reading that lasts a lifetime.

About my class
