Students are using the design thinking model to create STEM-based products to solve problems. I have requested two 3D printers to help students make prototypes to solve problems. For example, many students at our school experience high anxiety, depression or suicidal thoughts. A product they will create is a 3D printed prototype of stress relief item to help affected peers. Furthermore, I would like two high quality microphones to help students record videos and podcasts addressing problems at our school such as digital addiction, distracted driving unhealthy relationships. These specific products will support the oral language development of our second language learners as they solve these problem. Furthermore, it will support our Problem Based Learning model and our district emphasis of transforming the learning task for our students.
