With 5 iPads in our library, our students will be able to access apps that reinforce classroom skills and enable higher level learning while increasing information literacy. iPads have been shown to effectively help students with all learning styles, whether they be kinesthetic, visual, or auditory learners. They allow for students to have individualized and authentic learning experiences. I want my students to gain those 21st century skills that they will need in order to be successful in our quickly evolving technical world. By having the iPads located in the library, EVERY student in our school will have access to them and benefit from their use. As for how they will be used specifically, the possibilities are endless. Currently we have a set of Ozobots that get limited use, as we do not have the needed technology to accompany them. I am also looking into purchasing a Dash and Dot Robot as well as a Sphero SPRK+ that would require the use of the iPads to control them. Beyond robots and apps, students could use the iPads for creating book trailers, self-checkout of materials, interactive scavenger hunts using QR codes, and so much more!
